MGroup Services retired a patchwork of apps and data-capture tools, standardising on WorkMobile to save time and money.

Morrison Utility Services main area of expertise is the provision, replacement, repair and maintenance of utility network infrastructure, for example, electricity substations, water and gas pipes, electricity and telecommunication cables and installation of water, electricity and gas meters on behalf of blue-chip utility companies in the UK.

The Challenge

Morrison Utility Services runs multiple contracts with differing requirements, forms and workflows. Relying on custom development to support each variation was slow, costly, and hard to scale. The business needed a single platform that would let non-developers adapt quickly without spinning up new apps or waiting on IT backlogs.

The Solution

WorkMobile as the no-code standard

 

MUS replaced a patchwork of point solutions with WorkMobile as its single platform for mobile data capture and workflow. Business analysts, those closest to each contract, now design and maintain the solutions themselves using WorkMobile’s form and portal builders.

 

  • Analyst-built, contract-specific solutions: Analysts configure fields, validations, routing and logic to match each client’s contract and SLAs. Templates can be cloned and tweaked per region or customer without writing code.

  • Integrated with existing systems: “Job pack” data from the SalesForce flows into WorkMobile and is turned into electronic forms, pre-populating key details (site, job, contact).

  • Optimised for the field: Jobs and forms auto-download to smartphones/tablets. Engineers capture photos, GPS, barcodes and signatures online or offline, then sync back in real time when connected.

  • Governance without friction: Role-based access, versioning and audit trails let analysts move fast while staying compliant with internal H&S and client requirements.

Since Morrison Utility Services started to use WorkMobile they have systematically retired their existing portfolio of Apps and data capture tools. This has saved them time, money and has resulted in WorkMobile becoming the underpinning mobile non-coding solution across their whole business.
